Week 7 of my Infinity War Preparation – 2018 MCU Re-Watch
After a break for the cinema release of Black Panther I am back to my Infinity War Re-Watch, picking up maybe six months after The Avengers and kicking off Phase 2 with the final entry in the Iron Man trilogy.
This appears to be my third watch overall but my first watch for almost four years. I still like it, but it wasn't as good as I remember. I think that is perhaps partly due to knowing the big twist, and also knowing that nothing that happens here has any major bearing on events in future films.
However, I like how it directly follows on from The Battle of New York but is very much a Tony Stark film. In fact, Stark is the focus as director and co-writer Shane Black deconstructs Iron Man - metaphorically and literally.
I also liked how, after the introduction of more fantastical aspects to the MCU, the final(?) Iron Man film combines that element with it's usual inventor/tech plotlines. And I'm still a fan of the Mandarin.
To Infinity: N/A
Mid/Post-Credit Scene(s): It turns out that Stark has been telling his Christmas story to a less than interested Dr Bruce Banner.
Next Up: Marvel One-Shot: All Hail the King
