The Marvelous Tales Contest

In honor of all the creativity here on Steemit, I'm hosting the Marvelous Tales Contest.

The idea is simple: I give you two words, and you build your tale around these two words. You could write a story, make a comic or video, use a drawing or photo to accompany your tale, or even write a song. You can submit your entry by creating a post dedicated to this contest.

I will be picking the winner based on originality, creativity and entertainment value. Subjected, ofcourse, to my personal opinion, but I try to be as fair as I can!

Last week's results:

This week's pickings come from our guest judge @datboithe1. Thank you very much for judging the contest!

Third place
@irastra's entry won 0.306 SBD

Second place
@the-housewife's entry won 0.510 SBD

First place
@aedroberts's entry won 0.918 SBD

Congrats to the winners!

Proof of payout

Contest number 15

The rules:

  • Your entry must be original work and completely of your own making.
  • One entry per person.
  • You have to name your post as followed: "Marvelous Tales #15 - [Title of your entry]".
  • The first tag of your entry post has to be #marveloustales (I will be using this tag to sort through the entries).
  • Your entry should be kid-friendly, meaning no PG-rated content.
  • Drawings and pictures are allowed, but make sure they are accompanied by a tale.
  • Because the prices are based on payout of this post (for now), you must upvote this post to compete.

Prices:

  • First price: 45% of the SBD this post makes.
  • Second price: 25% of the SBD this post makes.
  • Third price: 15% of the SBD this post makes.

This week's guest judge:

Our guest judge of the week is: @geke

Would you like to be a guest judge? Send me a private message on Steemit.chat.

This week's words:

The words you need to spin your tale around this week are:

  • Witness
  • Decentralized

@geke mentions: " I'm not necessarily hoping for stories about the blockchain, since the word witness is much more open-ended. But I am hoping for stories about decentralized, self-regulating systems.".

This week's deadline:

Tuesday 26th of september, at 11:00 AM CET (Central European Time, UTC+1).

Closing notes:

  • I reserve the rights to disqualify any entry I deem inappropriate.
  • The rewards are based on the payout of this post. This might change in the future.
  • Rewards, winners and a new contest will be announced once this post is paid out.
  • I'd be very grateful if you would mention a link to this post from your entry post (it's not a must!). Anything you could do to help broaden the contest's reach is very much appreciated!

Thank you for your attention and I'm looking forward to seeing your entries!

I'm so excited to read these stories! Thank you for this Marvelous Tales contest @playfulfoodie! Always enjoy them. πŸ˜ƒ

Can't wait to see what people come up with! Thank you very much for being our guest judge this week :D

It looks like a fun contest especially because you can reply with video, art, music or the written word!

Aww thanks! I'm glad you like the idea :-)

People come up with the most amazing stories for this contest, I'm always really impressed. It's awesome to read them all!

I just wish I could get some high upvoters interested in supporting it (thank you very much for the support by the way!). I can't really pay the price money myself in these uncertain times for me (Steemit is like my part-time job for now), so it's based on payout of the post. It varies a lot each week, but I haven't really figured out how to 'catch that whale' yet ;-)

Anyway, it's all good! Plenty of people run contests here, so I understand they can't all be supported! I think most contestants join in for the inspiration, practice and fun either way. We have some very consistant contestants! And the best thing is, a couple of them get visits from Curie each week too! No price money can beat that, right :D

/too much info

You are welcome and Marvelous Tales contest, too.

Ill pass this weeks contest playful, I'm at my limit right now....see yah later again in the next round

Aww that's a shame! Hope to see you compete again in the next one :-)

Having won this contest the last two out of three weeks, I want to encourage everyone reading this post to enter. This week will especially challenge me as I have grown quite fond of the previous flow of the element.

The ripple effect has served as a basis for communication and people wanting how to improve their writings. Please let the journey be the joy.

Thank you @playfulfoodie. There are many contests on Steemit, but the emphasis on child-friendly content for yours is endearing.

Thank you so much for this amazing comment @aedroberts! I'm happy to have you as one of the contenders and always enjoy reading your stories :-)

Awesome, @geke will make a wonderful guest judge.

Thanks Sir Muxxy!

Definitely! I'm so happy she's our judge this week :D

how do you make a story about decntralization? whose idea are those words.

Normally, I come up with the words. However, this week's words were provided by our guest judge. She has written a little explanation to go with the words and I feel it's very do-able to come up with something here.

And hey, if this week's words are hard, all the more reason to try and join, because there might be a bit less competition, right? :D

@geke chose taht? she really wants to hurt the contestants...LOL

Nothing wrong with a little challenge :D
