Masochism, which is regarded as a sexual perversion, is a state of wanting to be persecuted by someone else and receiving sexual pleasure from it. It is argued that masochism arises out of guilt, and that the masochists are relieved by the thought that they are punished when they see torment.

Masochist can be sexually stimulated and materialized as a result of material torture such as whipping and slapping and spiritual torture such as humiliation.
