Puppy Breath!! Update!

Warning! cuteness overload!!

They are just over 4 weeks old and eating wet kibble. Almost weaned. And go potty on paper!
They are growing so fast!

My love of mastiffs runs deep!
Almost 30 years ago, I got my first mastiff Seymour. He was so beautiful. My kids were young, and he truly was a gentle giant, he was their lounge pillow!

Soon after we got Seymour, I started to show him in ckc dog shows, and he quickly became championed. I was hooked.

I cannot imagine another breed for me.
They are considered guardians not attack dogs.
They are protectors by nature. It had been said that they will let you in, it's the leaving that's non negotiable.
I have seen that first hand. I fella came here on a quad, unexpected, and visibly intoxicated. Koda circled the quad... let the man speak his piece, but everytime he went to get off the quad, Koda growled at his feet. And when the man left, after being told he was not welcome, Koda chased him to the property line. Escorted him off the property.

He has taken on bears for us. And won.

Koda is small for a mastiff male. He is about 160 pounds. We had a mastiff named Chief that weighed in at 195 pounds.

English mastiffs were originally bred as castle guards and guardians of the children.
They are a working dog, and are excellent for carting.

Because mastiffs grow so quickly, it is important to not let them get chunky, and limit strenuous exercise until after they are 2. To promote excellent joint health.

Ok.. enough talking.. here are the babies now!

Your puppies look marvelous! <3

Very cute indeed! What breed is that?

The mom is a great Pyrenees / akito cross. Dad is dogo argentino / American terrior.

They have gotten so big!!! I love the spots!!!

Wow ... they are so cute and the best friends of man! I like the photo of two puppies sleeping and hugging each other. They are so content to have each other and the mom around. :-)

I cannot imagine my life without them!!

oh my goodness! I have to go brush my teeth this was so sweet! My dog growing up Casey was the exact same dark brown brindle as Cleo and some of the puppies. What absolute loves! <3 Can't wait for more!

I love brindles!
Isn't amazing how we get warm fuzzies when we think of our childhood companions!!

Absolutely! I actually wrote about that amazing rescue dog here on steemit a few month ago and cried my eyes out the whole way through writing it ♥️

Awwwww
I am going to go find that blog!!
Xoxo

Yes! That Koda looks like a boss! I love mastiffs, but I think newfoundlands might be in our future.

Ohhhh a new addition! Can hardly wait to see the pics when you decide!!
I struggle with the work of a longer haired dog! But boy, they are an amazing breed. So loyal.

Yeah, we had a great 130 lb male named Obie, but soon after we moved to the homestead we lost him to a logging truck 😭 We are hoping to move in the spring and after we get some good fences we would like to get a couple of newfoundlands!

I am so sorry to hear that. :(
Fingers are crossed for you for spring. Xoxo

Nice looking dogs. I was gifted a year old Mastiff named Loki this past August. He is also a gentle giant. Thanks for the cuteness overload.

Aren't they amazing!!?? Give Loki a hug from us!

Thank you for the cuteness over dose! I love mastiffs. We had one when our sons were small, Sampson. He was the best guardian for our sons. A very handsome dog too.

What a fabulous name! I think they are very stoic! Thank you for sharing!!

I had heard the let in-not let out instinct regarding Rhodesian Ridgebacks, but not Mastiffs, so that was fascinating. I do hope it is something I never have to test out, though.
Our Mastiffx went to the vet yesterday because I wasn't going to attempt trimming her toenails myself - they are so thick & strong (and blardy hurt! lol). The nurses took her out the back (first ever visit, btw) and she was apparently a very good girl <3 I've not seen even the hint of a grumpy bone in her body.
Pups .... sigh what more is there to say? They're pups! <3 <3 <3
I'd be a sucker for the fawn pup. :D

I love rhodesians!! I showed a few back in the day! Wonderful personalities.
I have gone through many pairs of nail trimmers! I know what you are saying! Especially black nails, hard to find the quick!
Lol funny about the fawn, we are keeping her!! Lol good eye!! :)

They are adorable! Love the last picture of the proud parents :)

They are a great team! Keep us all safe, and so much love!
