Equation of a Line Passing Through Two Given Points

In this presentation I will discuss writing the equation of a line when we are given with two points on this line. Below is the lesson plan and hope that grade 10 math students will take benefit of it.

Thanks a lot dear brother for your appreciation, help and motivation.

Thanks for sharing such a informative post @mathworksheets. It has recalled and refreshed my past knowledge towards the concept of equation of a line passing through two given points. I also try to make an equation using (-2,-6) point.Keep sharing such good posts in future also.

Thanks for your so valuable feedback @gautam.

But if the line is vertical, that is , x1 =x2? So X2-X1 = 0, but you can't divide by zero.

I did a post on equation of horizontal and vertical lines. Vertical lines have undefined slope or infinite slope. If X2 - X1 = 0 that means line is vertical and it's equation will be X = Constant (that constant will be the x-coordinate of the given points)

Although I do not care for math (it's all Greek to me) I just want to say thanks for adding this knowledge to the steemit community!
Keep up the great work, my friend!

Thanks a lot my dear friend @acwood. I really appreciate your remarks and support.

Ohh very nice post..thanks !!

Thanks for your feedback @aryan12o :))

I never knew that this kind of calculations are used for determining how to get to point A to point B too.

Thanks for your feedback @cryptopie. Yes, equation of line is an identity card for that line. It tells how line moves horizontally and vertically (slop), which point it intersects with x-axis or y-axis, all such information about a line is represented by its equation.
