MDMA cons

So, as you may or may not know, MDMA is a very popular drug of choice for party goers and for people who seek therapeutic uses from the drug. But, like everything with an upside, there is a downside as well.

Some psychological downsides are as follows: Addiction (although this can be debated as it is not really addictive), memory issues (with heavy use), heavy or prolonged use may lead to depression. As you can see, there are quite a few psychological downsides, however they can easily be combated by exercising caution and not overdoing it. As with everything there is a potential for abuse, sometimes referred to as addiction, however it is not hard to stop using MDMA as people generally feel like they need it to for example have fun, but it is not really and addiction as such.

Some of the physiological downsides are as follows: Grinding teeth, nausea (usually during the come-up), blurred vision (although most people enjoy this), sweating, feeling hot and/or cold, lowered appetite, overheating, hyponatremia. I will only discuss the side-effects that may be a serious issue. The lowered appetite may cause a headache in some people because they don’t get the food they need, but if you just take a paracetamol and eat some food, you’ll be just fine. Two other issues that go hand in hand are overheating and hyponatremia, MDMA makes your body temperature go up and since lots of people are in hot, damp places when taking MDMA, they drink lots of water to combat overheating, and in some cases people drink so much water that they get hyponatremia (sometimes called water-poisoning).

So, in conclusion you should always be careful using any substance, and with MDMA you must be careful to test that you have actual MDMA and not any contaminants. You have to be careful to not overdo it, and when you are under the influence of it, you should drink plenty of water, however do you own research and figure out how much you should drink.
