One beautiful Sunday afternoon I got a call from a client, she said she had a job for me.
I couldn't move the meeting forward cos I wanted to see the lady behind that fine voice, so I fixed a meet up that same Sunday evening, although I was tired and hungry after staying for 4 services in church and some other meetings after church.
I dashed out immediately from church to our agreed meet up, there was no time for me to check if I was looking good or if my afro was on point or if I smelt nice.
At that point I didn't know what to think, whether I had my facts right, if I got my listings correct co I didn't know what to expect.
So I got to this restaurant we agreed to meet and she was already seated waiting, she waved at me_OH MY GOD!!!! I almost missed my steps she was this fair beautiful lady, with a clear bulky eyes that sends rays of love to you with every stare.
Honesty, I can't remember my first words to her cos I was disfixed (that's the only word that can describe what happened cos it doesn't exist...lol.)
MY MAIN POINT.
She asked me to draw up a budget of feeding one thousand (1000) persons for five days, launch and dinner with different meals (that is we are not repeating any meal).
So we are looking at 10 different meals.
Chai!!!! In my mind I said "what crime did I commit". " who ask me to come become chef"
In as much as I was tired and hungry "after eating at the restaurant though" I took up the job after agreeing price for me to prepare the budget, I was given four days. FAST FORWARD
You need to see me in the market the next day with five A4 sheets making a list, asking of prices, collecting number of vendors.
With sleepless nights in front of the computer typing and calculating.
Let me spare you the details of what I went through (THE PUNISHMENT) that period BUT I am eternally great full for that challenge, it stretched me and gave me tons of knowledge and experience.
Can I say to you?
"Allow your punishment fit your crime"
