Measuring

How do you measure a man? How do you measure a woman? How do usually measure a blockchain? Do you prefer speed, strength, or potential. a1drjohnthumb.JPG

The answers might differ, but soon the variables fade, and potential rises to the top.

At this point, I would like everyone to notice that I did not include pounds, kilograms or kilotons. I also avoided financial value references. I hope none of these were your knee-jerk responses.

In the Steemit community, reputation or voting power may become entangled in the mix. A big player may require such things. These do contribute to potential.

The reality is, we each have different units of measure. We must use these to measure others and other blockchains.

Steemit has a strong advantage in it’s ability to provide income potential (notice potential) is a key word. Potential by itself is empty of present value. Potential requires proper use.

Measuring a man or woman depends on their individual choice to grasp potential and use it for their future value.

Once upon a time — primarily before the Great Depression — a person's character was considered an important measure. These days it seems we are more oriented towards accomplishments and assets... which strikes me as a bit of a shame.

But you're quite right, we all have our own unique measuring sticks.

Great analysist and great picture.
