Regarding Hive and Steem, A hardfork happened on steem when Steemit's share was sold to Justin Sun (of Tron) after that Justin was all on to centralization and he also manipulated with the witnesses and freezed some Steem accounts. A lot of unrest was created and hence the new Hive platform was created.
When Hive was created exactly it was replicated with all the earnings and settings of Steem. The password also is same to start with, you can change if you wish to.
A lot of steemians have quit on steem and now only on hive, but still many are continuing here also.
I normally put up my content on both but need to do it separately.
You can just use the relevant tags and you will have your followers as usual. I did not face any challenge on that part, rather I see a little better earning on Hive now, since many of my voters have quit on Steem, but still I continue with both. Hive price for now is double to Steem.
I feel you should put up your content on both and maximize your earnings.
