Welcome to steemit, a dynamic environment where we have something for everyone, irrespective of where they come from. Steemit has rewarded and provided for numerous individuals from all over the world and is still in the business of doing so. In my sojourn through the media dapps on stateofthedapps, I encountered Knacksteem and I liked the title. I opened its corner in the Stateofthedapps hotel and saw that there's yet more reason to be on steemit and be a potential beneficiary of this initiative
in simple terms, knacksteem is meant to be a rewarder of opensource contributions but with a twist. The arche-typical opensource contributions are usually coding/programming/electronic, Knacksteem are looking beyond that. The platform looks to reward passion; just like the name implies, it is a corner for individuals with a knack for doing cool stuff and telling others about how they could do it.
Knacksteem is an open source platform on the Steem blockchain that seeks to reward talents on a much broader scale, which eradicates partiality, and infuses transparency, on the blockchain.
The project aimed to reward great and passionate article writers, hard-working individuals willing to promote their culture and interesting, original skills. It aims to remove the need for mediators and encourage cultural activities and sharing your passion with a wide audience, getting rewarded in the process.

Home Page
To have full access to Knacksteem, you need to have a steemit. However, you can still see the cool stuff available there by going to the home page of the dapp here. As a visitor, you can view all the wonderful content that is available on the platform but you will not be able to comment or "like" them.
To have full access(commenting and liking), you have to create a steemit account. To create a steemit account, you simply go here and signup for your free account, if you do have an account, you simply log in using the steemconnect portal at the top right of the screen and input the required details(Username and key).
Navigating
The Homepage is pretty simple and a tad bit underwhelming.
It has all the hallmarks of a typical steemit dapp, so maybe I'm just overreacting but it felt kinda drab. There's a bunch of stuff that doesn't work or maybe it's my browser. However, the platform is transparent and considering they were submitted to Stateofthedapps just December last year, it's fair to say they've made some progress.
On the left side of the screen, there are tabs to see the list of delegators in the "sponsors" tab, the moderators, The Guidelines, Frequently asked questions section where you can find the necessary information about the platform, Terms of service and their privacy Policy as well. It is a pretty easy platform to move through and I appreciate the simplicity.
SUGGESTIONS
- I think something other than the users banner should have been used at the top left because it doesn't just have a nice feel to it, perhaps a colour scheme or something of that nature.
- The notification button beside my profile picture doesn't respond
- The button to filter the kind of content I'd like to see doesn't seem to be responsive as well
- There's only one moderator. I guess this is because you don't have that much traffic but i feel like you could do with more. That will go a long way in eradicating partiality(a key part of your mantra).
- The platform needs more promotion. There seems to be really low influx of traffic. The posts on the homepage are nearly three weeks apart\
- The platform is limited to just English language. That is also something that could be sorted out. Perhaps onboarding another moderator? I know, its not easy but it is for the best.
- My profile page doesn't display steemit posts I make from other platforms. I think that isn't good for improving traffic here. I also don't know if it's a fault with my browsr but I can't see activities in my wallet and other tabs there.
- I'm a lover of sarcasm and free speech. Your policy on not making offensive jokes needs either further explanation or be removed completely
Summary:
Knacksteem is one of the reasons we love steemit, it gives hope and rewards creativity and opensource contributions to the platform. It is a nice initiative and will hopefully be bigger as time goes on. The platform opens a door for investors to earn from delegation and also from their creative contributions to steemit blockchain
