I'm loving Steemit. I was just pondering about media literacy before I got here.

I really believe that this topic should be discussed in school at the very least, if not from home with the family. Media literacy starts when we become critical with the information we take in and with how much of it we want to be involved in. Back in college, common discussion is "do people influence contents on media or is it the other way around? Does media influence people?"

With so much hype going on TV and the world wide web, many of us want to join the bandwagon. Weaved through media contents are personal values and beliefs suggesting how we should see other people and even ourselves. Media literacy is an important topic because it brings about consciousness that as content providers, we are accountable to the information we share to the public. Before media, human comes first. Human relationship has more weight than any trend or hot topics. Thanks for reminding me to be responsible as content provider. And for some, to get away from that thumbnail, to think before clicking, and to not make the remote control take control.
