Medical MDMA.

It is baffling that so many of the drugs listed as illegal under the current prohibition are now being considered as medicines. What does this say about the research that has been used to justify their criminalisation? The truth of Marijuana is that it treats a myriad of conditions raising the question, where was this knowledge twenty years ago? Even more surprising than the healing properties of Cannabis is that Ecstasy is being considered as a medication for mental illnesses such as depression and PTSD. This seems absurd given its demonization in our society and leads one to ask why we have held such an incorrect view of MDMA. It would seem that much of the science which forms our understanding of these substances is false. Accepting this fact will require an adjustment of peoples attitudes and that change will result in a huge cultural shift. I would suggest that our government is obligated to distribute updated information packages explaining the medicinal value of these products. This will help prepare the public for a much needed discussion on the issue of legalisation.
