This video of Joe Rogan with Mel Gibson and his doctor showed up in my YouTubes feed yesterday. I realize it sounds like a charlatan selling his cure all. In fact, Mel Gibson says as much at one point, but i have to say I wish I had the cash to take a trip to Panama and give it a go. They talk about using adult stem cells to treat everything from spinal injuries to autism. Naturally, almost all of these types of treatments are not legal in the U.S. thanks to government regulations. Here is to another twenty years of waiting.

Seems like the exact mechanism they're exploring is called "protein expression" (or something). There are a lot of protein configurations. There are so many, they have to use computer modeling to brute force every single permutation that has or will ever exist. At this rate, it'll take billions of years to find them all.
So there's a non-zero possibility that brute force approach will isolate the exact protein (or series of proteins) that already happen naturally, then the entire stem-cell debate can be side-stepped.
In the meantime, these stem-cells are ethical. Apparently efficacious. The red tape makes no sense. Thanks Obama.

Completely ethical and better than the other sources for reasons discussed in the video. These do not cause tumors whereas other stem cells can and often do if not “processed” correctly. Bottom line, it is insane that these treatments exist, but are out of reach in the U.S. unless you can afford a trip to Panama.
