I believe it has to do with the bone in the inner ear that degenerates based on the person's overall bone health that affects the hearing. While dementia might be caused by many factors such us aluminum toxicity for one thing. @thecryptofiend
I also suffer from tinnitus maybe also caused by what I mentioned. :(

If I remember correctly that is quite a rare cause of deafness. Damage to the cochlear itself through exposure to loud noise and other factors is much more common.

I always wanted an electric fan turned on, it's um somewhat just masks the ringing sound in my ear. I don't listen to a loud music tho, maybe it is just a part of my degenerative condition.

I've always had moderate tinnitus, but I found several things that helped reduce it. 1) I avoid fluoride toothpaste and mouthwash, 2) I take sublingual B12, 3) I removed sugar, transfat, & wheat from my diet, 4) I use ear plugs whenever I'm in a noisy environment. All of those helped.

Maybe my case is associated with my brain I don't know. too much toxins had accumulated already in my body.
