A 46 year old woman fell from a pear tree on a steel stick that was emerging from the ground. She was transported to the hospital in a helicopter laying on her stomach.
The foreign object missed all big blood vessels, but completely penetrated the intestines. She was first hospitalized in an ICU, as she developed sepsis and peritonitis.
She was later transfered to a abdominal department, and is now on the traumatology department for the broken leg.
She has a temporary stoma and recieves IV. Antibiotics via CVC.
Fortunately, there is no sign of a spinal cord damage ..
