Mylan Pharmaceuticals acquired the life-saving Epinephrine Auto-Injector, EpiPen in 2007 which is carried by people at risk for potentially life-threatening anaphylaxis. The EpiPen which has been around since 1977 which precisely calibrates the epinephrine dosage without the use of traditional syringes. Since the acquisition, the price of an Epipen has risen by 400% from $97 to $600 in 2016 in the United States.

Now many Americans are crossing the border to Canada to buy Epipens as Canada is not affected by the price gouging due to stricter regulations. Canadians pay around $120 for an Epipen which is far lower than the American prices prompting many US citizens living near the border to buy the cheaper Epipens from Canadian Pharmacies which are distributed by Pfizer under a distribution license by Mylan Pharmaceutical.

A service like this could be very helpful for many Americans who are not able to afford essential life-saving medications due to the exuberantly high prices set by the pharmaceutical free market of America.
