100% agreement there! I'm all for restoring function to damaged arms and legs and stuff like that, or even "bionic replacements" of a certain number of parts that simply wear out prematurely over time...but the idea of becoming some sort of cyborg...well...sorry, but they can tell me how futile resistance is all they want, I'm still not going into their goddamned cube! d=^P
I always had the idea that cloning would be a useful method of regrowing missing or damaged body parts, once the technology was sufficiently understood and tested, as you could theoretically grow exactly what you need to replace what's missing, attach it without any fear of rejection, and "finalize reattachment" by injecting the proper types of stem cells into "the area between old and new" to regenerate the nerves and blood vessels and other connections.
Any way you slice it, it's some seriously interesting stuff...but taken too far, or being done for the wrong reasons, will have it's negative consequences as well.
Time will tell...
