The practice of modern medicine has taken many different turns over the past 100-200 years. Like any ‘business’ creating and maintaining a customer base is imperitive for any company to succeed and thrive. Although there has been many developments in machines and certain approaches, overall the sytem is failing us in every countey capitalism has grown.

The approach of an oriental practitioner is much different, before they tell you anything they will check your pulse and tongue, all even check the eyes for signs but we are only ever told of the tongue and pulse because to check those requires our permission.

The pulse will indicate many things from energy and blood flow, from their perspective the energy nourishes the blood And the blood nourishes the energy.

Going to a doctor with shoulder pain they may take a quick look, tell you there is inflamation or send you for xrays, followed by a prescription for tablets which will most likely be anti-inflamatorys. From an eastern point of view, the sinus, posture, body positioning, breathing and everything along with it will be viewed and adjusted accordingly. The emotional debris in the body will be addressed with varios techniques and energy flow will be directed with needles. Various instructions will be given on diet and other practices which involve nutrients.

The knowledge gained from visiting and oriental practioner is valuable, and helps also to spot issues in others. From this begs the question, as someone who wishes to help others through mental health, is it okay to integrate a western approach into an oriental system (which is badly needed) Is it possible to do so? Yes,
Is it needed? It is certainly believed so.
Oriental medicine covers Traditional chinese medicine, ayurveda( indian) among others. These practices dont present a pill, instead they teach various practices to enable a person to take the power of their own health back into their hands.

We must not forget the past, in a sense we no longer need to discover, but rather return to the roots.
