The scientific name of Balsam is Myroxylon balsamum, it is a very common tree in Central America about 30 meters high with rough bark with protuberances which tends to sweat a crystalline liquid and can reach an average life of approximately 80 to 100 years.

Medicine

• For the Sight: We will take a piece of bark, then we will grab the liquid that it releases and we wash our eyes that can do it for several days and with that they will heal the diseases that they have in sight.
• Taken inwardly: If we take the bark we place it to distill for a while, after we have a high amount of liquid we can take a few spoonfuls for stomach problems, epilepsy, asthma, sciatic pain as well as it can help to have a better urinary flow and the apostemas of the lung.
• Applying on the skin: Taking the liquid with a cotton we can use it to apply it in areas with acne and scalds for its improvement.
