I stumbled upon @eco-alex and his Meditation Challenge Journal. Although the challenge has already begun please check it out here: 7 day meditation challange
If you don’t do it - don’t be shy or intimidated! Read over @eco-alex ‘s post he does an awesome job of outlining some steps for beginners.
I have been practicing meditation for almost 2 years now and I’ve had some amazing results! Check out my previous post Curiosity didn’t kill the cat - it’s meditating! if you’re interested in learning more about my personal journey and some pretty cool medical studies done on meditation/mindfulness.
My latest focus in life is attaining forgiveness. I have a lot of people, my inner self included, that I need to forgive. So I’ve made it my focus during meditation over the last few days.
Up until very recently I thought forgiving meant I was siding with that person, saying to them ‘I understand - I see why you did this. It’s okay.’
But now I get it - forgiveness has nothing to do with condoning. Actually it really has nothing to with the other person at all - it’s all about you. Accepting all the events, the choices that lead up to it, the way you reacted; accepting all of that in whichever way resonates with you. Each and every decision you make shapes your current self - be grateful for the struggles, they’ve shaped you into what you are today.

I choose to believe the universe, source, life - something greater than the self - lives in each of us. I reject coincidence and choose synchronicity and serendipity which tells me therefore everything happens for a reason. I’m learning to close the book on past tramas - not to shut them away like they never happened but to build upon them like how a strong foundation goes unnoticed on a beautiful building.
I had this vision at one point of throne rooms for each of the seven chakras which I’ve slowly developed into a visualization technique. I plan to do some sketches for each one in the coming weeks.
I’ve been listening to heart chakra balancing music found on youtube during my meditations. Lately I have been spending about 25 minutes on average, daily. Once I get settled down and calm my mind I focus my attention on my heart chakra.
For my heart chakra in particular I envision a huge room with a throne and emerald stained-glass windows. The light shines through creating a green glow.
Since moving my focus to forgiveness I had this idea come in - those emerald windows are dusty or sanded like seaglass. I buff them clean trying to let the light in. All the while I think of wiping away my previous thoughts on forgiveness, wiping away the pain or anger I have for these people and things - saying you have to release this stuff to make room for more love. I think of the light shining in as love and as I release these things the light shines through stronger and stronger.
This has been my mental process for the last few days. Each day I find it easier and brighter and I really has sank into my conscious life during the day. There’s still more window washing to do but I already have begun to feel more attached to the present and less bogged down by the past.
thank you for sharing this.. and helping to spread awareness about meditation.. It is one of the greatest gifts that we can claim anytime, anywhere!
Visualisation is also very powerful, so thanks for sharing what you visualise!
Love & Light!

I have to commend you with your meditation practice @amariespeaks. It sounds like a wonderful way to find inner peace. I would love to try but I’m sure one of my kiddos crying or shrieking would pierce into the few minutes of serenity.
btw, thanks for the support with my teammate’s intro post. It’s his first post and sign that he’s ready to be active on Steemit. Yay!

At least he leaves you alone! If I'm on the phone--checking Steemit :), my son will come lift my chin and turn my head to him so HE can have my full attention. LOL. Hope your 11 yr old will try it with you. It sounds like a great way to deal with teenage angst.
I hope those "windows" get sparking clean soon. :)

I love your creativity in your meditation process... and I think it's great how you explained your technique! There are so many different ways we can meditate and at the end of the day if we just trust ourselves, and listen to ourselves we will discover what feels right for us.
I hope your post inspires others to try different meditation techniques to find out what works for them. Meditation doesn't always have to mean sitting cross-legged on a pillow in a quiet room with incense. Try it standing up some time, or in a noisy space, I've always wanted to try meditating outside in the rain on the beach!
Experiment, play, and have fun with your meditations!

thank you @atravelers.life for reading and commenting :) I totally agree meditation can be done anywhere, any time ! I'm a buffet style kinda girl lol I choose something, try it out and either use a bit or move on. Never thought of outside during the rain - but that would be a challenge! I've always wanted to try a forest or woods.
