James Allen (28 November 1864 – 24 January 1912) was a British philosophical writer known for his inspirational books and poetry and as a pioneer of the self-help movement. His best known work, As a Man Thinketh, has been mass-produced since its publication in 1903. It has been a source of inspiration to motivational and self-help authors.

At first i was just trying to have fun. But James Allen is indeed a smart man.
And his teachings can help a lot of people.

I think that is how someone intelligent comes about.
If they start at the bottom and have nothing some perplexing life skills and principles to follow come about and that doesn't come if you start at the top.
You learn how to be happy with what you have and to not be thrown into this vat of materialistic goods which only withholds your path to success.

Thank you for sharing these words of wisdom, that are still so applicable today. I have seen these principles at work in my own journey over the years. Pride does come before a fall, and a haughty spirit before destruction. We may start out with swagger, but it leads to stagger. But bottom is always a good place for all of us to begin ( again), if our feet are on the Rock ! I look forward to reading more of James Allen's inspiring words. Peace, Neal
