Collaborating with Outex
I am super excited as usual to share my latest images from my most recent collaboration with the team over at Outex. If you are unfamiliar with them, have a read and see how Outex helped me create my last advertising campaign for Hifly airline. In short Outex is this great company from California that makes underwater camera housings.
Here is a video we made about this shoot:
Down below I have some pictures from the shoot to see the full gallery click here
In this post I am sharing some creative fine art underwater fashion images created with the help of the Outex crew. This was a very difficult initial concept, even though I got some really interesting images, the end result was very different from what I intended to do.
Change of Plans
Basically what I had in mind was the shoot to look like a studio environment but underwater, this wasn't my first attempt at this, I have done this in the past using a scuba diving pool but it was indoors this was outdoors, and well it wasn't anything like it. Here we brought this huge black fabric that we use at the studio as a space divider, mistake number one: I should have washed this before puting it in the pool. It automatically fogged up and got the pool dirty, visibility was almost zero... The more we moved in the water the less visibility we had, so I decided to change my perspective and shoot from above trying to create something still aesthetically haunting and overall beautiful.
This was from the indoor pool shoot I had before, You can watch the BTS video down below.
We mounted a four Profoto OCF light set up above the pool with pipe tubing and four very large light stands. I used two Profoto B1, one B2 and a B10 plus all triggered via Profoto connect.
This is how the set was, the pool was crystal clear before we put the black cloth in it as you can see here.
For this shoot I worked with the incredible model, Fabricia Pereira, my friend and an awesome make up artist Susana Santos. I soureced a number of dreeses from another freand of mine, the designer Susana Agostinho. We tried out different colors and fabrics to see what would work best underwater.
I am proud to announce that I am officially an ambassador of Outex, you can follow this link to check out my profile on their website. I am there with fellow Sandisk, G-Tech and Koylab ambassador Lucas Gilman and G-Tech ambassador Kirill Umrikhin.
