Hawthorn Hotel

Here’s one of the first photos ever taken of this iconic pub, back when fields surrounded the suburb of Hawthorn:

By the way, a “hotel” in Australia is another name for a pub. And when something is two days away, you say there are “two more sleeps.”

Here’s what the Hawthorn Hotel (Pub) looked like back in 1938. The name was temporarily changed to White Horse Inn Hotel and it was no longer surrounded by fields:
