There is no Steem.
This is so very true. It's true in a sense analogous to private property or fiat currency. It's a game.
There are no boundaries between borders really. There is only words that say so that enforce the law of power, and will, and ownership, according to written law.
The bits of paper, or plastic, you hold, with images of sovereign worth, are not actually worth anything, except for the trust and validation of the powerful, and the institutions and organisations that own it.
But make no mistake. Steem is also a fiction.
A made up system of value. As it must be,
Yet… it is one that participates, or is aligned to, changing the rules.
In ideal circumstances (which are not always, or ever met), it creates value from participation.
The value derives from distributed use.
It's not about the Sovereign power, or the esteemed holder of all bases. It's about distributed systems of value.
Well, this is true in an ideal World.
Great post :)

Lol. Thank you.
Hmm. Interestingly, distribution can itself create inequities in power and value. The Whales can dominate the market and have a much greater influence. Its fair in the sense of representing distribution, however it is perhaps also required that the mechanisms work well to keep it fair (perhaps?).
