The origin of the meme and what is behind it.

the evolution of the "memes" has been enormous, of simple drawings, we have passed to images with more and more ingenuity. The word "meme" has its origin in the concept conceived by Richard Dawkins, zoologist, scientist and eminence in the practice of atheism. In his book The Selfish Gene (The Selfish Gene, 1976) he exposes the memetic hypothesis of cultural transmission. It proposes the existence of two different "information processors" in human beings: one acts from the genome thanks to the replication of genes through the generations and another acts at the cerebral level, replicating the individual's cultural information, which is received by teaching, imitation or simple assimilation. In this case, Dawkins names as "meme" the minimum unit of information that can be transmitted. This means that the "memes" form the mental basis of our culture, as genes make up the first basis of our life.
