People Throwing Mud At Bit Bot Users Yet Upvote Themselves More Than 80%

in meme •  6 years ago

I am yet to see a good argument from someone that is not hypocritical. I see no deference in self upvoting and find it worse than using bit bots but I am open to be convinced otherwise.

Well said, @dpl. Although, in all honestly, while I don't knock bid bots at all, I have been getting frustrated in how many I give an upvote and/or comment to who don't give me one back at all. So when time has been limited and I see I'm near 100% voting power, I sometimes just upvote some of my own comments so as not to waste the upvoting power by either not doing it for periods of time or giving them to those who don't upvote back. You are probably the best follower on steemit I know who does your best to reciprocate upvotes and comments and I really appreciate that.

I think one thing a bot could really be good at may be to set in a selection of followers and friends to upvote them automatically whenever they post, so as not to waste the upvote power, especially after it reaches 100%. I have considered doing something like that in order to just leave steemit while it powers down, given I have been powering down now nearly 8 weeks and still will have to cancel and restart it again this next weekend again, making it a minimum of 21 weeks for me to power down. That's such a scam about steemit. But I'm still addicted to being able to control where my votes go and commenting. LOL

True @positivesynergy

I also do that not to waste voting power at 100% and now use @therealwolfs smartsteem option to vote for me when my voting power is higher than 95%. You can even set it to 98 or 99% to avoid wastage and you get paid for those votes.

Powering down takes forever! I think I am in my 3rd week now and it feels like nothing has happened yet!

Thanks for that info, @dpl. I'll have to check it out sometime.

I've actually set it up for 98% and I only vote for accounts with 2 stars or 3 stars.
Power Down takes 13 weeks. You are not even 25% done.

Hi @vimukthi

Yes, I have done the same (only 2 stars and higher). @therealwof got a sweet system going there.

@therealwof nailed it with @smaartsteem. The system could be tweaked, polished etc. But there is no fixing it. It got the fundamentals right. On the other hand minnowbooster isn't doing a very good job. They are not transparent there is only 1 level of whitelist quality as oppose to 3.

What is your take on Steemit?

I have been on Minds as well and found it a bit more interactive than this platform. I feel people just comment and upvote here if they think they might get something from it and you have to spend hours on end typing good posts with little to no success most of the time.

The #1 reason I post is for self satisfaction. In other words I do it for the sake of doing it. I'v never been much of a fan of social media clutter and one of the first things I noticed about steemit is the clean interface. It's just a clean minimalist blog with all the focus on the article which isn't something you can say about almost anything except Reddit. STEEM is like a personal journal or sort of a "Dear Diary" for me.

I normally keep things in my head. but STEEM cannot be taken down or censored and it has a very high Alexa rank. So in my head it goes something like: "If I put it on the blockchain, maybe somebody would discover this and it'd contribute to that person's life. plus it'd be like a diary where I can see my own development"

#2 Reason is the money. I don't just mean the payouts but also the HODL aspect. I have a lot of faith in SMTs and I think we could eventually see $100+ value for STEEM.

#3 Reading and supporting content I love. STEEM has many great articles and many great intelligent sensible human beings more than any other social media platform. There are many people with grat values on the blockchain and there are projects like https://fundition.io/ and other charities I can support with my votes. Please check: https://steemit.com/charity/@scottcbusiness/fund-a-cause-charity-projects-i-support

That's about it really. I've never really cared much about engagement, it's just a bonus and sometimes an annoyance. I just post stuff for self satisfaction. You could say I'm kind of like Apple
