Hi guys, just wanted to share with you an experience that I will never forget!
During the middle of last week, I attended a wedding down in Cornwall, which is in the south west of Great Britain.

From my house in the Midlands, it took approximately 4 hours to get there by car. It wasn't the most pleasant of journeys as most of the time was spent looking out at the motorway and the miserable weather.

However, the journey was completely worth it because not only was it a fantastic wedding, I got to meet an Internet SENSATION who goes by the name "Wealdstone raider".

For those who do not know, the Wealdstone raider made his fame through YOUTUBE where he was filmed during a confrontation with a football (soccer) fan from the opposition during the game. He is known well for the following sayings: "You've got no fans" and "if you want some, I'll give it ya." It did make me laugh when I first came across it!

Here is the video, where it all began...

Despite its release, the video wasn't completely recognised until December of 2014 where it finally took off! The video today stands at a staggering 10.9 million views! However, that wasn't all that was heard from the Wealdstone raider after that...

He then went on to make his own music video which gained 3.6 million views and was released at Christmas time. He kindly stated that the money made off the single would go to charity - which is really fantastic to hear!

To top it off, he even had a short documentary made about him! This was published during January 2015.

Here are just a few interesting things I found out about the Wealdstone Raider...
wealdstone raider 2.jpg

  1. He is about 5 ft 2 inches in height (1.57m).

  2. His real name is Gordan Hill.

  3. His occupation is a builder.

  4. Through the most of his childhood and adolescence, he was treated for toxoplasmosis - a parasite caused infection.

  5. He is 51 years old and was born in Harrow, London.

  6. For over 10 years, his brother had gained the nickname "raider" also.

It was really brilliant to meet someone so famous but humble/down to earth at the same time.

I just wish he would have caught me with my steemit t-shirt on!

Big thanks to the Wealdstone Raider (Gordon hill) for allowing us to take photos!

Hope you're all having a great day.
Jonathan.
