January 2018 Meme Round Up

ICYMI - 2018 went to a great start with memes. The internet never fails to deliver quality memes.

Below are the top 5 (in my opinion) best memes of January and the meme of the month:

Starting of with number 5!

5. Ben Swolo

A.K.A "Shirtless Kylo Ren". Ben Swolo is a photoshopped meme of primary antagonist Kylo Ren (played by Adam Driver) from the film Star Wars: The Last Jedi. The name was derived from Ben Solo, Kylo Ren's birthname, combined with the internet slang term "swole". (courtesy of: www.knowyourmeme.com)

4. TIDE POD Challenge

this challenge refers to a dare game involving the consumption of TIDE PODS. (Yes, Liquid Laundry Detergent in PODS!!!). Tide pods are often compared to various flavored snacks because of their appearance and packaging. Thus people started consuming tide pods for online challenges and dares. 3. Logan Paul

is an American vlogger and famous viner who became famous online. On December 31st 2017, Logan Paul uploaded a video on the website youtube about him visiting Aokigahara, the famous 'Suicide Forest'on Mt. Fuji, Japan where Logan Paul exploited a hanging body. The video has been deleted but that didn't save Logan Paul from backlash on the internet about his controversy. Youtube has also cut ties with the Youtube star indefinitely.

And the MEME of the MONTH Goes To

1. UGANDAN KNUCKLES

Ugandan Knuckles is the nickname given to a depiction of the character Knuckles from the Sonic franchise created by YouTuber Gregzilla, which is often used as an avatar by players in the multiplayer game VRChat who repeat phrases like “do you know the way” and memes associated with the country Uganda, most notably the film Who Killed Captain Alex? and Zulul. The character is associated with the expression “do you know the way”, which is typically spoken in a mock African accent and phonetically spelled as “do you know de wey.” (courtesy of: www.knowyourmeme.com)
