Thank you @Fabra58, for your Meme Challenge # 62, here is my entry # 1.

I realize that some believe that memes are just a picture and consider them abuse of Steemit. Yes, there are some people that are making money off of others work. But there are also a number of people who spend time creating original memes for others to enjoy. So, I thought I would share my process to help others see that time and effort are put into the creation of memes.

My Inspiration for this Meme:

Was Devo's song: Whip It

My process for this meme:

I found the whisk image on Pixabay, a site that offers images that require no attribution under the CC0 Creative Commons.
After spending time to find the image, I need to work with it on Photoshop, so I could add it to the image provided by the contest.

The whole process required me to be creative, use a skill I spent time learning, and spending my valuable time to share my sense of humor with others.

I fully support @valorforfreedom, who is a witness for the Steem blockchain. He is dedicated to the community and helping others achieve success on Steemit as evidenced by his creation of Steem School. If you want to support him, he would appreciate your vote.

This is a good post for discussion. Who actually owns the meme? Is it the site where you downloaded it, like google or bing? Or is the image from a movie or video, that you need to cite.

I don't ever see those meme sites ever say where they got an image from. I guess I read on Steemit from some folks that the Grumpy Cat lady sued some website for using the image.

But, this would get costly if you had to hire a lawyer to track down every image on the internet of your copy-written material. Have you ever been to Mexico or some third world nation? There are many bootleggers selling DVDs on the streets, the policemen don't even do anything about that. Nice job on the post!

Yes, it is a topic that needs discussion. There is a fair use clause in the copyright law. The courts use a four prong test to determine if the use is a violation of the copyright law. So, it can be expensive and hard for the copyright holder to win.

The Grumpy Cat case stemmed from a contract and also included trademark violations. So it is a little different.

I should do some more research on the topic and write a post on it in the future.

Thank you for sharing how you make memes.
