Advertising life in Mumbai: Memoire of pachpu

As a Marathi born Indian, I have achieved quite a bit of success in my first 25 years of life, cracking all the possible competitive exams, nailing every tests in extra-curricular activities I chose to pursue, traveling all across India (thanks to my parents), meeting many people from all across the world & making great friends along the way. I decided to leave this comfort of following what the system throws at me & me excelling at it, I decided to do things just because i wanted to. Till now that has turned out to be pretty dynamic ride filled with continuous ups & downs.

I chose to work in advertising to broaden my perspective towards marketing management post my successful stint with a print media conglomerate of India where I scored a brand name for myself by launching a radio station in Mumbai & not failing to deliver in the media sales role. I was lucky to be working under bosses who were really good, completely absent or impossibly incompetent. Extremes are always easy to handle when it comes to bosses. You know what to expect from them.

But as I left the media firm, I promised myself one thing, I will never stop learning & growing my skill base, so I entered the hottest pot in the town, an independent advertising agency.
The best thing about an independent agency is there always something to do & something to learn. There are hundreds of client pitches & thousands of weird people who are generally not cutout for 9-5 jobs. So I am kinda the best fit for such setting. (obviously the starting salary in this industry is real drag)

I have decided to start writing about my experiences & my learning on steem to keep track of my journey & create pavements for people who would choose the same path as I did. So currently I am in the phase of creating promotional campaign for one of the largest brands & learning SEO in parallel. To be continued.
