Mental health with disability can be a hard thing to explain but I'm going to try it. Disability in my case can cover more than one. Visual impairments, two disabilities I was born with and mental health has come along with that. As I try to work and do the work I do, it's the only way i keep busy and feel productive in society. But not enough people think about their future when it comes to our disabilities, if you're lucky enough like I am to have a circle of support, to help you pick up things, do errands, but i constantly think about my future, what im going to do once it's not there, I can't tell you how many times i've called canada post and their lazy postman have just left little slips saying we were here to drop off your package and you weren't here, i cant go to where it is. what if the snow is too heavy one day? and these guys just think it's so easy to pick up and go speaking of the post man, or what about if you need to pick up something at the store cause you ran out? but you don't have enough money cause the government doesn't give you enough. but then you try to get ahead or at least you should try to get ahead a little bit and use the gifts you do have, but then the more you do that, the more expensive it gets. it can be overwhelming sometimes, you get depressed because you see no end in sight, or you were teased as a kid in highschool, elementary, or even as an adult. because of your disability. teachers told you you can never accomplish the dream you want too, that shit sticks with you. you can see your friends, pick up and go to the movies but yet you can't do that. it's enough to make a person angry, one thing believe it or not that will not help the situation, is the catchless society and technology. cause maybe you have a slight learning disability, and you know the trust of technology. Convience. In some cases, that couldn't be farther from the truth.
