I came across this little article while sitting here doing, well really nothing, lol. However, the subject has also been a sore one for me for a long time now. I grew up, I would say normal. Parents worked, but were divorced. Went to pretty normal schools, never had what i would call any "real" amount of money. Just what I would consider normal, the struggle has always been there, for my parents and now myself....Anyway, growing up I didnt really believe in mental illness, honestly, and a number of you may not either. But if you have never suffered from it, how can you say its not real? Thats like saying the Pope is fake because I have never seen him...or some ridiculousness.

Now, as I grew older and took more stress in life, it hit me....this shit is real. I have been dealing with alcoholism for most of about 5 years, I have an addictive as fuck personality, which is good and terrible. I have dealt with stress, heartache, depression, physical and emotional pain.
At some point your mind just starts to wander, about anything, everything, and NothinG. It makes you exhausted, worried, fearful, and downright scared at times. Its gives you the energy to worry about everything, and demolishes the energy to FIX anything.
Just remember, the people you see everyday may or may not be happy about alot of things in life, do you care? If you see someone struggling, just with emotions, at times, do you talk to them? Do you ask questions? Or do you just leave it be, and if you do, do you ever wonder about those people? Idk, just rambling really, any comments or feedback is greatly appreciated.

Same for me, I've had a pretty normal childhood, but now I started to suffer from depression after i graduated university. I think there is still a big stigma about mental illness from people who never experience it. Thanks for sharing your experience to educated people.

The stigma around it is almost as bad as the issue itself. People need to be aware, know at least some of the signs. Happy face doesnt always equal happy place
