Clinicians have traditionally approached clients from a "faith blind" perspective, but spirituality and religion are often powerful client strengths. The ecological perspective consists of five domains: historical, environmental, cultural, family and individual. Spirituality and religion play key roles in how a client views these domains and how each domain interacts with the other. It is important for clinicians to understand a client's spirituality because it may provide relevant information regarding the client's worldview.
