Believe in Jesus: In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ

The apostle Peter in his first epistle tells us about the mystery of the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus; and by this sacrifice explains to us Peter, since Jesus is the "lamb of God", and he died for the salvation of many, we are called by the love (Agape) of God to a hope that cannot be disappointed.
Humanity is torn between the original sin inherited from Adam and Eve, and the spiritual salvation granted by our Lord Jesus, and faith in Jesus is that step that we have to take with our heart; when we inherit the Kingdom of God, sin ceases to be a habit or a custom to become an exception, the dominion or empire of God's perfections is way, truth, and life (John 14:6).
We are called to be new men in the image of the Lord Jesus, the Gospels teach us, and like Jesus who made a step from death to life, we too are called by the sacrament of baptism and the gift of justification to this step. God by his grace and mercy (compassion, kindness) through Jesus introduces us into this new life.
The christian hope explains to us the apostle Peter begins with that call to baptism, the new birth, which is the step towards the new life that we have to take in memory of the death and resurrection of our Lord:
"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God's power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time" 1 Peter 1:3-5.
Because only when we leave the sin and accept the new life and the hope is that we can live sensibly: "Now that you have purified yourselves by obeying the truth so that you have sincere love for each other, love one another deeply, from the heart" 1 Peter 1:22.
