Yes...building a tiny home with very little extra space means building a root cellar that won't freeze (in our climate no small feat, and the canning will be stored there also. I can enough for a full year (to meet all nutritional NEEDS for 6 people). I rarely have my full family all together for a full year, but that way we are covered if we have company too. The root cellar will likely be the largest structure on the homestead. All earth covered and insulated for winter (so a great bunker too). I think using the spare room is a great idea! That would give space to have it all well organized.
