Metaverse has emerged as a new term in the IT industry since Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced plans to invest $10 billion to help create the Metaverse. Metaverse is a meeting of the digital and physical worlds, a three-dimensional virtual space where users can gather as a group of avatars and interact with each other in an environment that is a replication of the physical world with certain modifications. Interestingly, this fiction-like idea comes from a science fiction book published in 1992. It reminds me of the internet where three decades ago, the internet also seemed like fiction to most people. Talking about the concept of Metaverse, if traced at first, Metaverse is not a strange thing. This concept has already been incorporated into gaming platforms, although the potential for development is still vast and developers still have a long way to go to discover its full potential. The Metaverse concept opens up vast opportunities for users to try out various activities, from traveling, shopping, trying on clothes, and attending virtual concerts. When this idea is in the spotlight, at the same time people are also getting more familiar with fintech and cryptocurrencies. Making the Metaverse concept more likely to develop. In fact, big brands are now entering the world of the Metaverse and are excited to be a part of this immersive internet experience. Most of the tech giants are already talking about it and are even starting to take steps to implement it in various industries. Pop star Ariana Grande's appearance at a concert series at Fortnite last year, for example, garnered worldwide attention for providing audiences with a psychedelic experience that gave audiences a taste of music on the Metaverse. In the retail industry, virtual locker rooms and clothing are becoming increasingly attractive to gamers, non-fungible token (NFT) investors and especially well-known fashion brands.
