Were the #MeToo Women Secretly Asking For It?

in metoo •  7 years ago  (edited)

There seems to be a tsunami size wave of sexual harrassment allegations coming out daily now.
Everyday another man has his face plastered all over the news with no less than 5 women claiming this guy assaulted her.

Harvey "WienerMe" was kicked out of his own company and is possibly facing rape charges.

On top of all that you have hundreds of women coming out of the woodwork sharing their stories with the #MeToo movement that is sweeping social media.

And with this coming to light I had hope for a split second that women would be taken seriously and stop being the object of some dudes pulsing labido for two seconds.

But OH HELL NO...

These women were asking for it because they dressed TOO SEXY!!
This is the argument of masses of men across the interhell.

Freaking really?

At the age of 14, wearing a tshirt and jeans I trotted 3 blocks to the grocery store to buy some milk. I made it half way there when some douche bag whips his car into my path on the sidewalk and starts yelling, "How much?"

Was that my fault? Was I dressed too sexy? Was I too pretty? Was I too young?

In my 20's I was working as a server in a local hotspot restaurant.
One day, in my usual uniform of black slacks and blue polo shirt, I developed a migraine headache.
My face was turning green as I lay across a booth in the throws of nausea and throbbing head pain.
My very nice boss found a huge knotted muscle in my back. He massaged away the knot even though I just begged to go home. With the knot gone away with my headache I felt 100 times better ....until...my boss asked me to return the favor by giving him oral sex.

Again..was it my fault? Was I dressed to sexy? Was I wrong when I told him not to massage my back?
NO!! I wasn't... He was just a horndog taking advantage of sick woman. And he didn't receive any favors from me that night either. YUCK!!

These are only 2 stories of the many I could tell you but I hope you are getting the idea at this point.

Stop shaming and blaming the victims!
Do you really want to know why it took so long for all this to come out?
I can tell you.... because these women knew it would be turned around on them.
The ladies would be told to stop dressing sexy and this wouldn't happen. And when all the smoke cleared the woman would be without a job while the horndog was still the big boss.

Shame and blame should be held for the dudes that were inflicting this treatment.
I'm so grateful to the women of Hollywood for coming out and standing strong.

You have to understand one thing, this affects all women, everywhere.
And I still have hope this will make big changes for the respect and treatment of all women in all professions.
