La Puerta de Tierra es una construcción militar que permitía defender el acceso por tierra a la ciudad desde cualquier ángulo. El muro está delimitado por un foso y cuenta con troneras desde las que se disparaban armas de fuego.
Cuenta con habitaciones anexas las cuales eran ocupadas por el jefe de guardia y la tropa en turno. En la parte superior de la Puerta cuenta con un sistema de defensa donde se atacaba al enemigo en caso de lograr el acceso.
The Land Gate is a military construction that was designed to defend access by land to the city from any angle. The wall is surrounded by a moat and has embrasures from which weapons were fired.
It has adjoining rooms which were occupied by the chief of the watch and the troops on duty. Atop the gate is a defensive system that could be used to attack any enemy that managed to gain access.
