NTA (National Testing Agency ) is a kind of statutory body,
which has been approved by Union Cabinet for conducting entrance examinations of JEE, NEET ,CTET,UGC NET etc .

As a result,medical and engineering aspirants will get a sigh of relief.

Apart from this educational bodies such as AICTE and CBSE will be freed from the responsibilities of conducting thse entrance examinations.

Notes

The NTA will function as an autonomous body.
It will a board of governors ,who will discharge their duties honestly and diligently.

It is registered under the Indian Societies Registration Act,1860.

It will be conducting various entrance examinations twice a year.

Exams

The NEET or National Eligibility cum Entrance Test , the entry to 33000-odd seats in government medical and dental college across India ,will be held twice a year, in february and the usual date in May.

The Joint Entrance Examination (Mains), which is for entry to engineering colleges,will be held in january and April every year .The exam drew 12lakh candidates last year.

NTA will also conduct National Eligibility Test (NET), common Management Admission Test (CMAT)and Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT) exams

Notes

Government has appointed former chairman of central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) vineet Joshi, as the first Director -General (DG) of the National Testing Agency (NTA).

CANDIDATES TO GET TWO CHANGES IN JEE & NEET EXAMS

The engineering and medical entrance exams JEE and NEET would now be conducted twice.

The best of the two scores will be taken as the final result for candidates .

DATES

When will JEE Mains and NEET be held ?

According to Prakash Javadekar , JEE (Mains) would be conducted twice a year , in Jan and April .
NEET (UG) would be conducted in February and May, the minister said.
