Early life

Mother Teresa was born on August 26, 1910, in Skopje (now in Macedonia). His father, Nikola Boayju, was a simple businessman. Mother Teresa's real name was 'Agnes Gonzo Boijajiju'. Gonza in the Albanian language means flower bud. When he was only eight years old, his father passed away afterward, after which the entire responsibility of his upbringing came upon his mother Darya Boazoo. He was the youngest of five siblings. At the time of his birth, his elder sister was 7 years old and the brother was two years old, the other two had passed away in childhood. She was a beautiful, studious and hardworking girl. Along with studies, he liked the song. He and his sister were the main singers in nearby churches. It is believed that when he was only twelve years old, he had experienced that he would devote all his life to human service and at the age of 18, he decided to join the 'Sisters of Loreto'. He then went to Ireland where he learned English. Learning English was necessary because 'Loretto' sisters used to teach children in this medium in India.

Sister Teresa arrived in Ireland on January 6, 1929 at the 'Loreto Convent' in Kolkata. She was a disciplined teacher and the student used to love him very much. In 1944 he became a headmistress. In the famine of 1943, there was a large number of deaths in the city and people became helpless about poverty. The Hindu-Muslim riots of 1946 made the city of Kolkata a terrible thing.

Missionaries of Charity

In the year 1946, he decided to help the poor, helpless, sick and the lifelong. After this, Mother Teresa completed necessary nursing training from Holi Family Hospital in Patna and in 1948 she returned to Kolkata and she got settled for the first time, where she stayed with the care of the poor elderly. He washed the wounds of the patients, gave them medicines and gave them medicines.

Gradually, he drew attention of people from his work. These people were included in the country's top officials and the Prime Minister of India, who appreciated their work.

According to Mother Teresa, early rounds in this work were very difficult. He had left the Loreto, so he had no income - he had to get the help of others to fill his stomach. At this critical juncture of his life, there was a lot of turmoil, a feeling of loneliness, and the idea of ​​returning to Loreto's luxuries also came, but he did not give up.

On October 7, 1950, they got permission from the Vatican to establish 'Missionaries of Charity'. The purpose of this organization was to suffer hunger, nude, homeless, lame, blind, skin diseases and help people who had no place in society.

The 'Missionaries of Charity' started with only 13 people, but at the time of Mother Teresa's death (1997) more than 4 thousand 'Sisters' were helpless, destitute, refugees, blind, old, poor, homeless, alcoholic, Serve AIDS patients and people affected by natural disasters

Mother Teresa opened the ashram in the name of 'Nirmal Hriday' and 'Nirmala Shishu Bhawan'. The aim of 'Nirmal Hridaya' was to serve the patients suffering from malignant disease and the poor who have been thrown out by the society. Nirmala Shishu Bhawan was established to assist the orphan and homeless children.

Honours and awards

Mother Teresa received many international honors and awards for the service of humanity. The Indian government embellished him with Padma Shri (1962) and later the country's highest civilian honor, 'Bharat Ratna' (1980). United States awarded him the Medal of Freedom 1985, in 1985. Because of the work done for human welfare, Mother Teresa received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1979. He was given this award to help the poor and helpless. The death

As well as increasing age, their health deteriorated. In the year 1983, at the age of 73, he had a heart attack for the first time. At that time Mother Teresa went to Rome to meet John Paul II. After this, he suffered a second heart attack in 1989 and he was inducted in an artificial pacemaker. In 1991, after pneumonia in Mexico, his heart's problems increased. After this his health continued to decline. On March 13, 1997, he left the post of Missionaries of Charity and died on September 5, 1997. By the time of his death, the Missionaries of Charity had 4000 sister and 300 other associate organizations working in 123 countries of the world. Pope John Paul II declared "Blessed" in Rome on October 19, 2003, Mother Teresa, who cared for human services and the poor.
