From Madras to Trinity college-Srinivasa Ramanujana-who knew infinite

in mgsc •  6 years ago

Today I am sharing the story of the most successfull mathematician of India Srinivasa Ramanujana. For me the word Mathematics is synonimas with Srinivasa Ramani jana.

Early life

One of the greatest mathematician of modern era was born in 22 December 1887 at a small district in Madras(chennai). In an early age he lost his father. He completed his primary education from local primary school. He also got scholarship but failing in non mathematical department his scholarship was cancelled.

Falling to prove his worth

Ramanujan did not have any conventional higher study in mathematics but he found many theorem, sequence, and series. He also find out Euler theorem independently. But failed to prove it's worth to anyone in India. So he forced to work as a clerk in a office.

Meeting G.H.Hardy

During his time as a office clerk he sent his work copy to G.H.Hardy a famous mathematician and professor of Trinity college. He saw the potential in him and call him to cambridge. Then Ramanujan go to cambridge leaving his newly married wife. And started to study in university and working on his theorems.During this time Ramanujan give proves to his works and shocked many british mathematician.Hardy compare him with great Euler and Newton. If you want to know detailed works of him go watch the movie THE MAN WHO KNEW INFITI.

1729 magical number

G.H.Hardy finds his brilliance when one day they were looking for a taxi . When they found 2 taxi Ramanujan take the taxi no 1729 .Hardy asked what so special in this no he told that this is the sole no which can be expressed by the sum of cube of two number i.e.12^3+1^3=10^3+9^3.
So 1729 is called Ramanujan Hardy number.

Bad phase in his life

Ramanujan was vegiterian but in university cantine was only providing either nonveg or boiled potatoes. So Ramanujan has to made his own food but he could not cook.In this time he suffered a lot and infected by lung deases. In this situation 1st world war started and crisis of food in England made the situation worse for Ramanujan.Hardy took care Ramanujan in this phase and after getting well he moved to India to saw his wife.

Achievement and thought

Ramanujan worked in the leader known field of Mathematics which was unknown to even pure mathematician .His formulas was so amazing that at initial stage professor of Trinity college refuses to take the formulas. Then Hardy and Ramanujan has to prove their works in front of them and they had to admit Ramanujan was right.Ramanujan then choose to the member of royal society and his works was published to many science journals then whole world know who the Ramanujan is.If he lived some more year he could be the greatest Mathematician in modern era.

Unexpected death

In the long journey from England to India he was again infected by his langs diseases and in the year 1920 the one of the greatest Mathematician India ever produced leave the eternal world.

After many year from his death his works was discovered which he was done after reaching India and before his death. This works is now used to describe the behaviour of black hole and in many modern science field.

So that was the brief history of Srinivasa Ramanujan if you want to know more such type of story do follow me.And if you liked the post don't forget to upvote it.

greate article bro .ese hi lage rho ek na ek din result jaroor milega

Yes bro you also keep supporting me.

Ramanujan dream was to prove the existence of God with mathematics. He used to say there is no meaning of a equation if that does not prove the existence of God.

Good life story telling...

Khub bhalo Bondhu.
