Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 Overview
November 6, 2017 : Royal Enfield will be launching two new bikes with their new 650cc powerplant. The bikes will feature a new chassis to accommodate the larger powerplant. One of the bikes will be a Street Classic while the other will be a Cafe Racer. The highlight of the bikes are the new 650cc air-cooled and fuel-injected twin-cylinder motors. The motor is an entirely new unit built from the ground up. The parallel twin motors feature a balancer shaft and a single piece forged crankshaft for better refinement and lesser vibrations. The engine head has a single overhead cam layout and features a four-valve per cylinder arrangement. The motor has a 270-degree firing order that gives it low-down torque characteristics of a V-twin and a throaty exhaust note as well. The motor makes 47.65PS at 7100rpm and 52Nm of torque at 4000rpm. The motor gets a six-speed transmission and a slipper clutch.
When launched in India, we expect the bikes to be priced between Rs 3-3.5 lakhs (ex-showroom).
