John McAfee continues to make headlines in crypto space with whatever he does. A few days back he was in news for canceling his appearance at a conference because of some threats to his life, and now he is in news again because of a new smartphone and app marketplace developed jointly by his team and a startup. The smartphone, called Cloak Phone, promises to bring back the “Luxury of Privacy” to everyone’s life.

Washington Utility Stops Accepting Applications for Crypto Mining

A customer-owned utilities company in rural Washington has stopped accepting applications for electricity from crypto mining and similar blockchain operations, the Seattle Times reported July 30.

Ethereum Creator: Mass Adoption Matters More Than Cryptocurrency ETFs

Ethereum co-founder Buterin Vitalik believes that the crypto community has focused too much on ETFs rather than making cryptocurrency easier to use as a method of payment for everyday purchases via payment cards, according to a recent tweet. An ETF will benefit cryptocurrency prices, he believes, but making it easier for people to use it will do more for mass adoption.

Litecoin Creator Joins HTC Team in Developing a Secure Blockchain Phone

Litecoin (LTC) creator Charlie Lee recently revealed that he will be aiding HTC in ensuring the company’s upcoming blockchain-powered phone contains a secure network that is simple enough for the general population to utilize. Lee will act as an advisor to the project following a meeting with the team last week.
