First "FIFA" World Cup Begins

The inaugural FIFA World Cup started on 13th July, 1930 in Uruguay. A total of 13 team participated in the tournament. The first match was played between France & Mexico.

This was the only World Cup without any qualifying rounds and every country affiliated with "FIFA" was invited.
