Sumant Moolgaokar was born in 5th March 1906. He was the Indian industrialist and architect of TATA MOTORS. He started his career at a post of engineer in a cement industry named as CP CEMENT WORKS LTD. In 1949 he was appointed as director of TATA INDUSTRIES PVT LTD and director incharge of TELCO. He was also the non executive chairman of MARUTI SUZUKI . Tata motors gave tribute to him by keeping a vehicle name TATA SUMO after his name. He also received Padma Bhushan in 1990 . He died on 1st July 1989.
