Distributed Ledger in Blockchain!

in mgsc •  6 years ago  (edited)

A distributed ledger is a database that is spread across several nodes or computing devices.

Blockchain is one type of a distributed ledger.

Blockchain organizes data into blocks, which are chained together in an append only mode, meaning which last block comes at the last.

Distributed ledgers use independent computers (referred to as nodes) to record, share and synchronize transactions in their respective electronic ledgers (instead of keeping data centralized as in a traditional ledger).

Each node replicates and saves an identical copy of the ledger.

Each participant node of the network updates itself independently.
