On August 1, 2018, the French National Assembly collectively endorsed a bill supporting the battle against lewd behavior and viciousness. One key component of the law, proposed by Gender Equality Minister Marlene Schiappa, is the making of an arrangement against lewd behavior, or "sexist shock", characterized as:
" The reality of over and over forcing on a man comments
or activities that have a sexual undertone and that
influence such individual's poise due to their corrupting
or mortifying nature or that make a scary, unfriendly or
hostile condition for such individual. [Article 621"
"Sexist shock" are currently deserving of a fourth-class fine (90-750 Euro/$104-867 United States Dollars-USD) and even a fifth-class fine (up to 3,000 Euro/$3,476 USD) on account of genuine or rehashed offenses. This varies from inappropriate behavior, deserving of two years in jail and a 30,000 Euro ($34,756 USD) fine.
