Instead, what they say is that "third-wave" or "modern" feminism is flawed, by which they mean the behavior of feminists and their ideas about misogyny and the earnings gap. But claiming that "modern" feminism is flawed implies that the gains made by previous feminists are acceptable. Indeed, this is what some commentators have said. For instance, during Milo Yiannopolis' 2015 appearance on the Joe Rogan Show, he said that feminism was okay until 15
years ago. Christina Hoff Sommers said the 1960s feminism she grew up with meant [quote] "being a free, responsible, self-determining being." However, when it comes to explaining how feminism mutated from a supposedly benign form of feminism into "modern" feminism, they offer a vague account of what transpired. The explanation they give claims that "radical" feminists co-opted the movement and brainwashed women. My question is this: are the commentators who chastise "modern" feminism failing to make a connection between the liberation of women from the household, the nature and behavior of women, and so-called "modern" feminism? In other words, how much of "modern" feminism can be explained as an extension of giving women power, which the first and second-wave feminists sought for them?" Well Scott thanks for your donation and topic. This situation is not as cut and dry as you want it to be. Yes in some cases the various commentators are failing to recognise the connection between the liberation of women and female behavior and nature on the whole. They don't sit here day in and day out covering female nature. Instead they are focused on a number of issues like freedom of speech, social justice issues, black lives matter, the Alt-right in addition to feminism. When you discuss such a broad number of topics you can't devote a huge amount of time to any particular topic and therefore in many cases you have to go with the flow with others in the skeptic community and puppet what they have to say.
