We crowded into the bathroom together. Sam unbuttoned her jeans and sat down on the toliet. With bated breath we each held a corner of the stick. A quick kiss. We waited for the result to show. Would be it be plus or minus?
Tears formed in Sam’s eyes. I bolted from the room, slamming the front door on the way out.
My harley roared to life. First stop was the hospital. I had to tell Dad, give him something to live for.
The nurse stopped me in hall outside his now empty room. “We’ve been trying to reach you.”
