The Surface Duo 2 from Microsoft is like a Swiss Army knife. It can transform into a digital book, a little tablet, a screen I can prop up almost anyplace, or a mini-laptop that looks like the T-Mobile Sidekick. However, it isn't the one thing I want it to be: a fantastic phone.
Microsoft's second-generation foldable gadget, the Surface Duo 2, will be available on October 21 for $1,500 (£1,349, AU$2,319). Microsoft's first try at a foldable phone had sluggish performance and lacked the features you'd expect from a high-end phone, two comments it clearly took to heart. The Surface Duo 2 now has a more powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 CPU, which improves the screen's performance.
